I drove to Arches National Park and parked my van at the Visitor Center. The plan for the day was to ride an out and back on the main road in the park all the way to the end at Devil’s Garden. It was a beautiful sunny day and there was little wind. Pretty much perfect. It was a blissful type ride. There is a significant amount of climbing, and that brings up the heart rate, pumps adrenaline into one’s system, and helps to create a kind of buzz inside of oneself. There is an up-tempo rhythm of heartbeat, thought, and feeling, whether pumping hard uphill or flying downhill to complete the cycle. Data details: Ride time 2 hours 45 minutes; distance 35 miles; elevation gain 3,400 feet.
Hopefully the photos represent the energy of this ride well ….
