Grandstaff Canyon is about one mile up the road from our campsite at Goose Island. Sue and Jim (and Jinx) are staying with me for several days. It's an outdoors, hiking, biking and good food party! (Jim loves to cook, and he uses fresh ingredients, too!) We did a hike at Grandstaff on Friday. I had never been there before, despite having driven by it numerous times over the years (I first visited Moab in 1985, and I have been there many times since.) It is about 4 1/2 miles round trip in/out of the canyon. There are a lot of water crossings, but the water is low enough here that one can cross on rocks that have been strategically places, unlike at Mill Creek the day before, where we sometimes crossed the river with water over our knees. Once again, Jinx was a happy hiking dog.
