April 30-May 21, 2026 I arrived at Big Meadows Campground in Shenandoah on April 30 and stayed for three weeks. It was such a fantastic experience. The park sits high in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which is one section of the Appalachian Mountains. The Blue Ridge stretches approximately 600 miles in a northeast-southwest orientation from Pennsylvania to Georgia. Shenandoah National Park is entirely in Virginia and contains nearly 200,000 acres. Skyline Drive runs along the ridg

208. Kittery, Maine
Memorial Bridge April 12-20, 2026 I drove up to Kittery on Sunday, April 12. I had a few purposes in mind. The first was to bring my ProMaster van to the local Dodge dealer to have regular maintenance done. I took the van in early Monday and the work was completed by 10 AM. From there I went to Warby-Parker, about a mile from the Dodge dealer, to shop for glasses. 205. Gulf Islands National Seashore
February 4-14, 2026 Boardwalk connecting the campground and beach ... Fort Pickens Campground was an easy drive, five-hundred miles from Savannah to Gulf Islands National Seashore. I left at 7AM and arrived in Gulf Breeze, the small town near the entrance of the park, around 4PM. There’s a change from eastern to central time along the way, so it was a ten hour drive. In Gulf Breeze, I stopped at CVS to pick up prescriptions, then shopped in a Publix Supermarket to replenish m

Parks Pond - Tarrywile Park - Danbury Post # 203: December 16, 2025 - January 15, 2026 It is mid-January and I am still in Danbury. It is not what I envisioned nor planned for the new year. I may write more about the past six weeks, experiences since my last post on December 15 last year, but for now, I am going to provide a brief account. I have been staying in an apartment next to The Sesame Seed Restaurant. I worked at The Seed circa 1979-1986 and have remained in touch wi
